My friend Madison, Alessandra and I decided to take a road trip to Utah. Alessandra had to go to Utah for her Aunts wedding and Madison wanted to go see family, friends and a concert. And I just wanted to go! We were dropping Alessandra off with her family and then picking up Cam from Salt Lake because she was there playing 3 lacrosse games with her team on Saturday. It was a really fun drive down. We dropped Alessandra off with her family and then headed to Madison's house to sleep. We headed out the next afternoon after a picnic with her family and headed to Provo where we would part ways. I stayed with Connie Widdison, an old best friend from IL and Madison was going to meet up with her friend to go to the concert. It was a great night filled with movies, music and Marriage Banners. HAHA It was awesome seeing Connie again and catching up.
Madison and I had planned on going up to Salt Lake to see if we could get stand by tickets for conference but her and I decided that we were both too tired to go. The next morning Connie and her roommates and I made breakfast over at the "guys" house. Her brother Jason and all their friends live in the same house. We made German pancakes, bacon, hash browns and a fruit salad mixture. We watched General Conference on TV and then Madison picked me up about 20 min later so we could head home.
Madison had driven up to Salt Lake to pick up Cam and then me. We headed to her parents house to eat some lunch and then drive home. On the way to Utah we made really great timing. It took us 8 hours but we were only driving for about 7. (pit stops, bathroom breaks, and gas runs) The ride home was great until we got pulled over. The cop told us that she was pulled over because it's a state law in Wyoming that you can't be in the closest lane when there is someone pulled over by an officer. You have to merge over to the furthest lane and go 20 mph slower. We had no idea, we're from CO. He didn't wind up giving Madison a ticket for it but did because of her expired plates and not having her registration card with her. oops! We finally arrived back in Greeley, CO around 10.
It was a really fun trip and it was my first real road trip. (sorry mom, our trips to see family don't count)
