My best friend Amy Bradd was getting married on the 7th of March. I wasn't planning on attending because it was going to be in IL and I was stuck in CO. I told myself that she was my bestest friend in the whole world and I had to be there for her Reception. I hopped online, bought a plane ticket, and packed for the weekend! I made it a surprise so only my brother Tyler knew about me coming. He let me stay with him!
It was a horrible trip out to IL! I wake up early at 3 am so we can get to the airport on time for my flight at 6. I arrive and stand in line for an hour with security, (it usually only takes 20 minutes to get through). When I arrive to my concourse and check the TV screens to make sure that i was headed to the right gate I found out that my plane has been canceled! They didn't bother to tell me when I checked my luggage. I ran around trying to find someone to help and finally found some assistance. Turns out she had no idea that the flight was canceled and took 15 min trying to book me another flight. She finally sent me to Customer Service. By the time I got there the line had 100 people or more already in front of me. They announced that there was a number that we could call to try and get a flight over the phone. I left the line and hopped on the phone. After 30 minutes of talking/getting frustrated at/yelling to a lady with a really thick accent and who talked too fast and mumbled I got a ticket that left at 10:30 and arrived in Chicago at 12:20. Then a 3 hour layover. My flight from Chicago to Bloomington was 40 min late and then when we were all on the plane we waited for 45 minutes. We were waiting for a crew member who's plane had not landed by the time we were boarding. Our plane takes off at 4:35 or so and we arrive in Bloomington at 5:25. (original times for flight are as fallows. Denver to Chicago leaves at 6:10 AM. From Chicago to Bloomington it leaves at 10:16 AM arriving in Bloomington at 11 AM.) On Saturday I spent a total of 12 hours at the airport or on a plane. When i finally got off the airplane and went to baggage claim and waited for 20 min for the luggage to start coming out, then waiting to see my bag. No bag showed up. So I had no luggage. SWEETNESS!!!
Tyler, being the awesome brother that he is took me out and bought me an outfit to wear to Amy's Wedding Reception so I would look good when I showed up. I matched of course!
I had Tyler walk in before me with the camera so he could take pictures of their reactions to me showing up to the wedding reception. Their faces were priceless. Jaws dropped to the floor and eyes were wide open. It was GREAT! I couldn't have asked for a better response! It was so nice to see Amy and Rich (her husband) and her parents and brother and other friends. It was a crazy trip But so worth it! She's my bestest friend, I wouldn't have missed it for the world! I LOVE YOU AMY!
